Baby Shower

A sweet friend of mine, and wife of Jordan’s best friend is having her first baby in a few weeks. We were so thrilled to throw her a baby shower, and yes it’s a girl so pink was absolutely in order!

We got the balloon garland from local Love of Character. I sent them the invitation design, and they matched it perfectly. They delivered and set it up for me a day before, and I tucked in bits of greenery and Baby’s Breath to help tie-in the rest of the decor. I may have over ordered from the floral department (whoooops) so I made a eucalyptus garland for the mantle, and I love how it made the whole event feel more grown-up.

One of the mama-to-be’s oldest friends owns Boards Wichita, and she did an outstanding job with this board for the shower. She does fruit boards, veggie and hummus boards, and of course meat and cheese boards. This was such a treat to have at the shower to munch on.

We had infused water (cucumbers, limes, and mint), strawberry lemonade, and a make-your-own mimosa bar because brunch is just never complete without OJ + champagne. I made the backdrop for the bar from strips of tissue paper glued to a paper sheet - super simple and fun to do!

This salad is a go-to in my family. It’s just spring mix, feta cheese, blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, cranberries, and poppyseed dressing.

We tried to make all the treats Gestational Diabetes friendly! The cups are filled with angel food cake and strawberries - whipped cream topping optional! Angel food cake is typically lower in sugar, which is why we chose it.

I don’t know about you, but the hardest part for me is always finding people’s addresses for thank you cards. We had these thank you cards printed to match the invitations, and asked guests to write their addresses down to make things easier for the mama-to-be. I sent the original invitations via Paperless Post, and loved how easy it was to check RSVP’s and send via email. I uploaded my own design to Paperless Post, and had a few copies printed for the mama-to-be to keep in her baby book.

It was such a sweet morning celebrating this lady and her sweet girly! We’re ready to meet her so soon!
