A Royal Lemonade Tasting Birthday

A Royal Lemonade Tasting Birthday

When I asked B what she wanted to do for her 5th birthday party, she immediately requested that a princess attend. For her 3rd birthday, we had Anna and Elsa come to her Frozen II themed party. And she has talked about it ever since! I wanted to put my own spin on it, and since she couldn’t commit to a princess early on, I found a theme that worked for any character.

One evening as I was walking down the aisles of Target after the kids’ bedtime (as moms do), I saw some cute lemon piñatas (since sold out - apologies!) on clearance/close out. I’m a bad blogger for choosing something that isn’t linkable, but I promise I’ve found very similar products in my list of supplies at the end of the post. I settled on a Royal Lemonade Tasting (inspired by the Fancy Nancy book B wants to read nightly before bed).

I love a good table setting! The kids table is actually a coffee table painted white. It’s larger and wider than the average kid table, but the same height so it fits standard kid chairs. We normally keep this in the playroom and bring it out for parties. I set this table with a mix of lemon-y and royal inspired paper goods. The Meri Meri circus horse reminded B of Minimus, the horse from the Disney show Sophia the First, so I used it in both balloon and plate form (super cute). Meri Meri also has a lemon plate that pairs perfectly with the horse plate because of the details in the gold finishes. I like to throw all the party favors on the table with the place settings. It adds layers and texture! You may notice the princess crowns from B’s 3rd bday. I’m a party supplies hoarder and proud of it!

It was a lemonade tasting, so naturally we had to have various flavors of lemonade! I bought plain glass bottles and added flavored syrup and food coloring. On the menu was: Cinderella’s Bippity Boppity Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Belle’s Parisian Pink Lemonade and Rapunzel’s Golden Flower Lemonade. Not pictured were clear drinking glasses for each party attendee.

I finally feel comfortable making balloon arrangements for my own parties, so this was a compilation of multiple size balloons, mylar, and foil balloons. I’ll link the colors and specialty balloons at the end! If you’re going to tackle a balloon garland, I highly suggest buying an electric balloon pump and watching tons of tutorials before committing yourself to the task!

I really love putting these parties together for my kids. They’re such a fun celebration of right now. Right now, B is the fanciest girl. She loves tea parties, dresses, princesses, and her favorite color is gold. She is FIVE - who can believe it? Not this mama.
