Our Little Lake Trip
We just got back from our quick trip down to the lake for Memorial Day weekend, and we’re about to turn around and head to Key West in a few days (cue the laundry marathon)! It was a sweet getaway for the three of us. Jordan did some golfing, B and I swam at the pool, and after nap we played with friends. We lucked out getting down there because there was a lot of flooding on the roads (originally thought we may not get to go!), but we made it down and back safely with no big issues.
You know it’s going to be a good day when you’re driving a golf cart to the pool for the morning. B and I matched with our rainbow Kortni Jeane suits which, of course, made me very happy. This pool is fairly new to the area, and we loved it! It had two super shallow entries into the pool, plus a splash pad/slide area for kids.
The water was really high, so no one was on the actual lake, sadly. We made the most of the sunshine, though, and were happy to simply get away for a few days. Also B’s at an age where she’s basically impossible to disappoint, and she still takes epic naps so our days are limited to mornings only anyways.
The hot tub had some kind of funky bubble malfunction on Day 2, and B had to inspect the suds up close. We didn’t end up staying at the pool too long on Day 2 - the weather got rainy and chilly pretty early in the morning. Luckily for us early birds the pool opened at 8am, and we had about 30-45 minutes of pool time for B before hitting the road.
How sweet is that little hand on Daddy’s leg?? These two kill me. We realized this weekend we hadn’t been down to the lake since we were pregnant with B, and it’s such a special place for us. It’s where we got engaged almost FOUR YEARS ago - how is that possible?? Time flies. We are looking forward to making more memories at the lake with B this summer and summers to come!
