Love these two! There’s been a lot going on lately with selling the old house, Valentine’s Day, and just general February busyness. B started ISR swimming lessons (I plan to get more into ISR in an upcoming blog post), and we’ve been dabbling in potty training. And by “dabbling” I mean this: B’s ready and we’re just along for the ride. She showed a lot of interest a month or so ago, so we prepped ourselves with training underwear, a potty watch (linked here), and a tiny toilet. I think we’ve made a lot of progress this weekend, but I’m cautiously optimistic. We definitely wouldn’t be doing it yet without her interest, but it’s been all her idea so we’re just watching her go (literally)!
The weather’s been nutty here, so I’m grateful for the chance to escape to the warm indoor swimming pool where we do lessons every day. It gets us out of the house, and B’s doing really well now that she’s gained some confidence in getting from the teacher’s arms to the bar on the side of the pool. I’m really glad we’re doing it, and also that we’re past the first week hump (a.k.a. crying every day of lessons.)
We’ve been spending a lot of time indoors, and I’m ready for nice days at the park to come again quickly! If the temps get above 45 though, it’s game on at the park with some extra bundling and layers. Last time we went to the park, it was literally just the two of us - hey, more park for us crazies to enjoy!
Smudgey mirror selfies are a staple of this season of life. Let’s not pretend like my mirror was much cleaner before motherhood though.
Valentine’s Day was pretty low-key this year for B! I blame the Christmas jammies on my scattered brain - girlfriend definitely had Valentine’s jammies, but they were in the wash… WHOOPS. We had swimming lessons that morning, and I had to get photos of the exterior of our old house before the painters came. So we grabbed vegan donuts at Whole Foods, and then she shopped with a B-sized cart for her favorite snacks. Her daddy and I had a nice date night at the club with a zippy little golf cart ride to boot. I’d say all in all, a successful V-Day.
Slow mornings are my absolute favorite part of this season. I know there are busier mornings ahead, and I love when we’re all together in our pj’s soaking up the time together. <3
