Exploring Wichita with Fawn Design
This weekend my friend Jessica from KC came to town, and we played photographer for each other during our ventures. On Saturday, she wanted to personally deliver mugs and prints of her Wichita skyline design at some local shops, so B and I tagged along! There are so many fantastic murals here, but one of our favorites is outside Doo-Dah Diner (one of many places that carry Jessica's Cityscape Designs!) Another local shop we stopped in at - Love of Character. B was loving all the beautiful dolls + coffee mugs (yes, B loves "Kaw-kee"). They have an amazing selection of party goods, gifts, and local swag. B needed plenty of snacks, water, and wipes during our errand-running, and I love how much our Fawn Design bag can hold! Plus the backpack design is incredibly convenient and looked awesome with basically any outfit I threw on.
This is our absolute favorite bookstore in Wichita - Watermark Books Cafe. They have the best ever focaccia bread, and I dream about their sandwich + tomato soup combos all the time. Their entire menu is good, in all honesty. I tucked a cookie away for later in our Fawn Design bag (the same one she's smashing into her mouth here!), and saved half for me later! It's such a fantastic bookstore, too. We chose a Daniel Tiger book for B, and picked out one for a friend's adoption party. On days when I have more time to browse, I love looking through their team's picks for new novels and cookbooks. Finally, if you're a local and you haven't been, let me tempt you with this... they have a Dr. Pepper milkshake on the menu that is tooooo dieeee forrrrr.
Helloooo, Kansas wind! On Sunday, we introduced Jessica to our favorite Wichita landmark - The Keeper of the Plains. B was thrilled by all of the ducks down by the river! Although we didn't have time to walk the whole path, I'm making plans to go back soon with a stroller and a packed lunch. The Exploration Place is within spitting distance, and they have a fantastic park on site. For our quick venture down to the Keeper (and then lunch in Delano District after!), my Fawn Design bag had a bento box of snacks for B, the usual diapers/wipes necessities, and an extra outfit, and it still had enough room for my DSLR camera.
I love introducing some of my favorite hometown spots to both friends and Brooklyn! It's always so special. Brooklyn handled all of the activities like a champ, and we're already scheming to visit Jessica in KC. And when we do, you know I'll be bringing this bag!
