A 1st Fiesta

A 1st Fiesta

This day was such a special one - filled with some of our favorite people. Each and every one of them was a part of this past year for us, and it was so great to have everyone in the same place celebrating our sweet girl!  Planning this party was a labor of love, and we of course had to choose a theme that allowed for tacos (and yes... a margarita machine, which I 10/10 would do again. It was a hit!).  I dolled it up with a bright and girly color scheme, and a few really special details.  Who knew cactuses could really be so cute for a baby girl's birthday??

HOW cute are these cactus cupcakes?  They were cinnamon churro flavored, and tasted as great as they looked.

I somehow kept most of the succulents alive before Sunday's party!  We used a few tomato cans and simple terra cotta pots to display them on tables.

Jarritos and margaritas were on the menu for drinks!  My husband booked a margarita machine the week of the party, and it was a hit.  Also, totally jinxed myself with the sign... Not much siesta-ing was happening post-party.  B was far too excited about playing with her new toys to nap!

Since we've really tried to avoid sugar and processed food up until this point, it was important to me that B's cake be low sugar and organic.  I scoured the internet for recipes, but I didn't want a dense fruit-cake.  I ended up finding a mix at Whole Foods that was perfect (linked at the bottom with all party sources), and I lightly covered the final product with a simple cream cheese frosting recipe (with about half the amount of powdered sugar.)

B absolutely loved her fiesta, from beginning to end!  It's hard to believe how fast this year's flown by, and we were thrilled to get to share this day with everyone.  I've linked all party sources below for those interested.  If you're local to the Wichita area, I've linked some fantastic vendors for you as well!
